I still find it amazing that the large majority of people that are looking to lose weight ignore Yoga as a possible solution.

A good, solid, Yoga routine will help you tackle those nasty calories to start to melt off the weight. On top of this the process also reduces stress and creates a state of mindfulness.

This mindfulness could be the difference between a successful weight loss campaign and miserable failure.

If you manage to create the necessary awareness and mental state you are giving yourself a head start – it will certainly help when it comes to sticking to your strict healthy lifestyle routines!

So Who is Tara Stiles?

Tara Leann Stiles is an American model turned yoga instructor and founder of Strala Yoga in New York City.

She managed to evolve the Strala version of Yoga through a single property located in the Soho neighborhood of New York City. This particular version of Yoga is now a really successful and globally recognized fitness regime.

Stiles does not follow any school of yoga or instructor – she instead opts to target the physical aspects and health benefits of the subject. Her general goal is to make yoga more accessible to the wider public.

Her lack of ‘respect’ for the more spiritual side of Yoga has brought on a few critics – but there’s no getting away from the fact that her Strala Yoga is extremely popular and effective (both online and in the studios she owns).

  1. Hi, cool I really didn’t know yoga could possibly help with weight loss. I always thought it’s more like a spiritual thing, to balance out and help us with the stress we encounter in our daily lives. But it certainly makes sense. Some of the moves in yoga are really exhausting. I didn’t know Tara Stiles but I will check her video out on Youtube. She certainly looks like yoga helped her burning fat, so skinny 🙂 

    1. Yeah yoga is pretty awesome when it comes to weight loss Phil – you’d really be surprised (I was!). Tara is a great teacher for those who are looking to learn yoga without all the pretentious crap that goes with it! 🙂

    I knew about the benefits of yoga to anyone who is looking to lose some weight, and I have tried a few yoga youtubers, but sometimes I find hard to follow the training they share on their videos, I need some kind of beginners routine.

    Thanks so much for sharing this article, I will take a look to Tara Stiles youtube channel and I might find a good routine to follow to help me to lose those extra pounds I want to get rid off.

  3. Great article about yoga! I think people don’t realise how much exercise it actually is, especially when you factor in positions like plank! 🙂 I like the fact this is not about traditional yoga which can feel a bit overwhelming with all the technical names, etc 

    Yoga should be fun and is a great way to relax, but it’s also a bonus that it gets you fit at the same time! 

    1. I was actually caught out by how much effort it is when I first started out Kate – I was out of breath within 5 minutes (and very sore!).
