Why is Being Fat Bad For You?

Why is Being Fat Bad For You?

A high percentage of the population is going to spend most of it’s life locked in a battle between their body weight and their ideal weight – I completely understand this!

I’m not overweight – I’m a dedicated country runner, but I STILL manage to worry about my weight constantly.

But, it’s not just ‘the look’ that worries me – it’s the health issues….I’m now 42 and this health lark is beginning to get louder by the day!

So why is being fat bad for you?

Is being overweight actually as bad as many experts claim?

Let’s take a closer look…

Looking to lose that weight and improve your metabolic health? Check out our review of the Fat Diminisher System HERE

Health Risks of Being Overweight

Health Risks of Being Overweight

Okay, let’s start with the health risks as most of us see them – the health risks most of us are TOLD about (and believe without questioning).

Numerous articles online will inform you that being overweight will lead to the following health problems:

  • Type 2 diabetes
  • High blood pressure
  • Heart disease and strokes
  • Various types of cancer
  • Sleep apnea
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Fatty liver disease
  • Kidney disease
  • Pregnancy problems, such as high blood sugar during pregnancy, high blood pressure, and increased risk for cesarean delivery (C-section)

Now I’m certainly not going to argue with the list above – there is a lot of medical proof out there to back this information up, and even the most ignorant and arrogant of us will have to agree with them.

But what is the real truth behind being overweight? What are the most damaging aspects of being fat in this day and age?

The Real (Modern Day) Dangers of Being Overweight

The Real (Modern Day) Dangers of Being Overweight

I’m going to throw this one out there because I’ve recently gone through several excellent articles that cover the REAL reason people are scared of getting fat. I should also point out that I am certainly not a medical professional (as you ALL should know by now), and this is just my opinion on the subject.

So, we’ve got diabetes, heart disease, and certain cancers etc, etc – these suggestions are enough to keep anyone up at night, right?

But it seems like the biggest issue facing overweight people is not their weight, but social stigma.

It doesn’t matter where in the world you are based – we all seem to carry some sort of cultural disdain for people that appear to be overweight.

Recent studies have sort of ‘gone undercover’ to highlight this rather worrying fact, and they started off in the workplace.

Did you know that overweight people are less likely to be hired than traditionally attractive applicants?

overweight people are less likely to be hired

It’s certainly a little worrying…but you can see some sort of twisted logic behind the employer’s thoughts!

On top of this, studies also show that overweight people are a lot more likely to face some form of discrimination in the workplace, even if they manage land the job in the first place!!!

The very same report also highlighted the fact that a large percentage of doctors and nurses discriminate against the overweight – the very people that are put in place to help you with your health in the first place.

This modern day stigma (if it is to be considered modern!) also effects the chances of overweight people actually doing something to improve their weight issues – fat stigma is considered an obstacle for overweight people who want to join a gym and work out.

They are petrified about signing up for a membership only to be stared at and ridiculed when they walk into the training area.

Why is Being Fat Bad For You?

At the end of the day, is it more important to pay attention to one’s health habits than one’s weight?

How often do you take part in some form of cardio?

Do you enjoy a few walks throughout the process of the week?

Does your job entail sitting behind a computer screen all day long?

Do you eat well?

These questions are always going to be more important than numbers on a scale.

Nutrition and physical activity have a far more direct effect on health – and probably always will.

If you have any  thoughts or opinions on the subject we have covered here today, please leave them in the comment section below.

Increased Water Intake For Weight Loss

Increased Water Intake For Weight Loss

People always look for the easiest way to take on their expanding waistline, and to be honest with you, I’m no different at the end of the day!

I like running…but I also hate it at the same time.

I love seeing the weight slip off my bones when I’m exercising…but some mornings I really can’t be arsed to get out of bed and get my body moving!

Sometimes exercise is not even an option for some people – what then?

Well, today we are going to look at increased water intake for weight loss – does this form of weight loss work and if so…why aren’t more people trying it out???

Why is Drinking Water Good For Weight Loss?

When all is said and done – ‘calories in versus calories out’ is still a VERY real thing when it comes to weight loss (so please don’t think this article is going to be the ‘magic bullet’ for your dieting problems!).

But, how much water you drink plays a huge role in determining what side of that equation you come out on.

Why is this?

Let’s take a closer look…

Working out when you are dehydrated is a waste of everyone’s time…well…a waste of your time (more specifically!).

Your workout/exercise will be half-cooked from the off and your fat loss will suffer as a result.

It’s worth noting that you never really feel that thirsty until your body gets rid of about 2% of it’s water content – unfortunately this is the usually the exact same point where your energy for working out takes a fall.

Therefore it is recommended that you drink at least 16 ounces of water before you go for a run, hit the gym, swim, whatever!

On top of this you should be looking at another eight ounces of water every half hour during your sweat session.

It is possible to check that you are getting enough water for your workout by simply weighing yourself before (and then after) your chosen exercise.

If your ‘after exercise weigh’ is 2% (or more) less than your ‘before exercise weigh’ – you ain’t drinking enough to handle the exercise routine!

Every time you consume food or have a drink, your body needs to work to process it – in a nutshell – it has to burn calories.

This process is known by the term ‘diet-induced thermogenesis‘ – a bit of a mouthful really!

Research points to the fact that increasing your water intake by 1.5 liters every day could increase your daily caloric burn by about 200 calories.

I’m pretty sure that 99% of you reading this article have already come across the claim that water can fill you up, killing off hunger pangs in the process.

Well that never really worked for me – water can control your hunger in a much more efficient way anyhow…

Water has a rather unique way of finding out exactly how hungry you are – it pinpoints your REAL hunger level.

Did you know that a majority of the feelings we get when we’re hungry also raise their head when we are really thirsty?

That empty feeling of a gurgling stomach, low energy levels, and even light-headedness can be linked directly to a lack of water intake.

So when you feel hungry, you can simply drink approximately 16 ounces of water to see what effect it has. Are you still hungry or do you feel a little more satisfied in the hunger department?

When you have energy coursing through your veins your workout will always be a good one – you are going to absolutely smash it!

Not only that, energy actually helps you get your ass in gear and get up from that sofa in the first place!

Water makes up nearly 70 percent of the human body and keeps your cells firing. This means that it supplies your aching muscles with oxygen and nutrients and also manages to keep your brain focused.

Remember – a focused brain is essential for a successful weight loss regime!

This is the real ‘biggie’ for me and my weight loss efforts – water manages to replace all of those nasty drinks that pile empty calories into your body.

Time and time again I hear people state that “Oh but water is so boring – I couldn’t drink it all day long…”

Absolute rubbish – you just need the willpower to get used to it (like anything new in life).

It’s a known fact that drinking more water will actually get rid of those ‘soda thoughts’, and eventually put you off the idea of going for that tin of Coke.

Increased Water Intake For Weight Loss

The Benefits of Alpha Lipoic Acid For Weight Loss

The Benefits of Alpha Lipoic Acid For Weight Loss

Americans have struggled with the scourge of obesity since the 80’s, when the USA literally gave up on healthy eating and turned to high-calorie fast foods.

The problems of obesity as a severe health condition have led to numerous studies aimed at discovering safe methods of dealing with obesity and overweight people in general.

A few of these studies have revealed interesting results showing the benefits of alpha lipoic acid for weight loss and overall wellness.

However, one thing about the results obtained in all the studies involving alpha lipoic acid (ALA or a-lipoic acid) as a weight loss supplement is that they have been inconclusive; despite the seemingly positive outcomes.

Professionals in this area of study agree that more research and controlled clinical experiments (on human subjects) are required to guarantee best (and consistent) results.

They’re also quick to add that this remedy may not have similar effects on everyone. This may probably be due to the uniqueness of our genetic make-up and response to different stimuli.

The Fat Burning Kitchen Guide – Your 24 Hour Diet Transformation to Make Your Body a Fat-Burning Machine. Find Out More HERE!

What is Alpha Lipoic Acid?

Alpha-lipoic acid is a critical coenzyme needed for mitochondrial energy production, but primarily known for its function as a strong antioxidant.

Numerous independent surveys have revealed impressive unique properties of a-lipoic acid that make it a potent supplement in the treatment and management of migraines, blood pressure, weight loss, bone health, glaucoma, stroke, diabetes (type 2), damaged nerves (neuropathy) or dementia, relieving oxidative stress, and kidney complications among others.

What is Alpha Lipoic Acid?

Please Note: Alpha occurs naturally in animals and it is a vital co-factor in numerous key homeostatic functions.

Our primary focus is however on the benefits of ALA for weight loss. So, how does this connection between a-lipoic acid and weight loss really work? What is the science behind it?

Benefits of ALA for Weight Loss

According to several research findings, a-lipoic acid has been used successfully as a weight loss supplement; two of these studies particularly stand out.

One study conducted in 2015 and published in the Obesity Society Journal used a control group (placebo) and an intervention group that received doses of ALA and EPA (omega-3 fatty acid) in varied combinations for 10 weeks.

The results gathered from all 97 trial participants (obese/overweight women) who completed the exercise (parallel, short-term randomized double blind placebo-controlled trial) showed that although both groups lost weight due to the adjusted dietary and lifestyle changes, the ALA group, after receiving a daily dose of 300mg of ALA, lost 4 pounds (on average) more than the control group (an average loss of 15.4 and 11.4 pounds respectively).

A cohort study carried out by a Korean team in 2011 and published in the AJM (American Journal of Medicine) also reported a positive correlation between a-lipoic acid supplementation and notable acceleration of weight loss in both men and women.

A total of 360 overweight participants divided into 3 groups completed this experiment.

Two groups received a-lipoic acid in doses of 1800mg and 1200mg respectively (administered in spread-out small doses of 400-600mg before meals), and lastly there was the control group.

Benefits of ALA for Weight Loss

At the end of the double blinded 20-week trial, it was discovered that the placebo group had lost an average of 2 lbs, the 1200mg ALA group had lost 4 pounds on average, and the 1800mg group had lost an average of 6 pounds.

It is however important to note that only about 50 percent of the total weight loss was attributed to reduced fat mass.

Another 4-month study conducted on 1127 obese subjects by an Italian team of researchers in 2010 (and published in Current Pharmaceutical Design), also revealed that pre-obese and obese teenagers were able to lose between 8% and 9% of their total body weight after taking a daily ALA dose of 800mg for the duration of the trial.

This translated to an average loss of 15 pounds!

So, how does alpha lipoic acid fit into the “weight loss magic potion” equation?

How does it actually help you lose weight?

ALA Science Explained

Modern science has attempted (and to some extent managed) to hypothesize (with near accuracy) the different ways that ALA helps in body fat reduction. The two most popular theories include;

#1 – Appetite suppression: Less calorie intake (having less hunger pangs and eating less food) logically means fewer opportunities for fat build up and eventual weight loss. ALA is known to act on the hypothalamus (part of the brain) to suppress feelings of hunger.

#2 – Increased Energy: By playing a major role in the increment of mitochondrial energy production function, obese people using ALA have more energy to move round and probably exercise a little to burn calories and body fat. The energy production process (which also sets your basal metabolic rate) is definitely expected to produce some heat which can theoretically help burn fat deposits directly while at rest.

More studies citing the key role played by a-lipoic acid in insulin suppression also show the significance of using ALA for weight loss.

Regardless of these encouraging results, it is imperative that you note this one simple fact: Alpha lipoic acid is not sufficiently effective on weight loss on its own…lifestyle and dietary changes that include a few exercise programs are still necessary for more desirable results.

Key ALA Facts to Consider

Although there are no known adverse effects of prolonged ALA use, a few people have reported side effects such as gastrointestinal pain, vomiting, itching or skin irritations, and nausea among other minor conditions.

It is therefore advised that you talk to your physician or health professional before starting on any dietary supplementation or medication regimens.

There are clearly numerous benefits of alpha lipoic acid for weight loss, but as research continues to remind us, these positive results may not be for everyone.

Benefits of Eating Grapefruit for Weight Loss

Benefits of Eating Grapefruit for Weight Loss

Let’s take a close look at the benefits of eating grapefruit for weight loss and how a proper diet might assist us in losing up to 30 pounds in two months.

Each time we eat breakfast, lunch or dinner, the glucose level in our blood increases, encouraging the pancreas to excrete insulin.

In a healthy body, insulin’s role is to trigger lipid and muscle cells to ingest the surplus of glucose in our blood and convert it into energy.

We learned in school that when we eat too many processed carbs, our system generates too much insulin, creating the perfect environment for fat cells to be deposited.

Researchers present a theory that when too much insulin is coursing through our veins, it becomes almost impossible to shed extra weight because our cells develop a resistance to insulin.

Inflammation is a result of excess fatty tissue, leading to a pre-diabetic state and eventually, diabetes type 2.

Recent clinical studies have confirmed that when grapefruit is eaten or it’s juice consumed before meals, insulin levels are lowered and the absorption of glucose is facilitated, resulting in weight loss.

If you want to lose weight, you need to consume less calories.

LED or “low energy density” represents a lower caloric intake in a greater volume of food and grapefruits are a LED food, containing between 39 and 52 calories.

Eating the fiber in grapefruit promotes excellent health

About two thirds of the fiber in grapefruit is easily digestible and satisfies your hunger for longer periods at a time.

Having a consistent eating schedule that includes grapefruit will help you lose weight because it administers glucose without raising your blood sugar level.

An entire grapefruit is equivalent to 12 grams of carbs, with around 9 grams comprised of sugar.

Eating the fiber in grapefruit promotes excellent health

Burn Fat with Vitamin C and improve your consumption of vital minerals

There are approximately 40 grams of Vitamin C in half a grapefruit which is essential in the synthesis of carnitine and burning fat for energy.

Your immune system will be revitalized as well, reducing risks of cardiovascular disease, cancer and stroke. This amazing fruit also contains high levels of magnesium, potassium and soluble fiber.

Red and pink grapefruit contain carotenoid phytonutrients and lycopene, an antioxidant which provides protection against damage caused by chemotherapy.

Limonoids, another important phytonutrient, exists in grapefruit and switches genes on that kill cancer cells. (Journal of Biological Chemistry, 2011).

Drink Grapefruit Juice Before Meals

About half an hour before lunch or dinner, eat half a grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice.

A clinical study released in “Nutrition & Metabolism”, February 2011, described how 85 test patients who followed this method with a restricted calorie diet, experienced weight loss results up to 7 percent of their excess weight.

Strength training, exercise and restricted calorie intake as a part of a grapefruit diet

Calorie consumption apps are available on your smart phone to assist you in determining how many calories you consume daily to retain your current weight.

To lose weight, subtract between 800 and 1,000 calories and remain faithful to that goal.

As a safe measure, it isn’t wise for women to eat less than 1200 calories per day or men to ingest fewer than 1800 per day.

· Get out there and move for at least 30 minutes a day, five days a week. Take your kids for a walk, your dog for a run or go swimming.

· Invest in some weights or join your local gym and work on a program where you are strength-training three times a week. Push ups, lunges and squats are excellent. Remember to make weight training a top priority because it will intercept the sequence of losing muscle and weight gain and restore a balanced metabolism.

· Drink an average of 8 glasses of water per day.

· A full 8 hour’s sleep is crucial during your diet.

Consult with your family doctor or nutritionist before starting a diet

Some prescription drugs have contra-indications regarding grapefruit juice; blood pressure medication, cholesterol drugs, anti-anxiety meds and a few antihistamines may be counter-acted.

Always consult with your physician, pharmacist or professional health-care specialist before exploring the benefits of eating grapefruit for weight loss.

Greek Yogurt Benefits For Weight Loss

Greek Yogurt Benefits For Weight Loss

My petite 6 year old niece overheard our conversation the other day (okay, eavesdropped…) as we went on about weight loss programs and diets.

My sister (her mom…) mentioned something about Greek yogurt and weight loss and that’s when she jumped out from her hiding, arms akimbo, pouting her lips in a twist, and just went, “Mom, have you been feeding me Greek yogurt? Can I get it for grandpa and Uncle Charlie this Christmas mummy…?”

Poor skinny little thing (but awesomely adorable)… we laughed all afternoon… lost a few calories too!

Interlude: grandpa George and uncle Charlie have some weight issues and they are significantly pot-bellied!

Moving on Swiftly…

With its thick creamy texture and a sweet-sour taste that some describe as tangy, Greek yogurt remains one of the most preferred type of yogurt for many yogurt enthusiasts, specifically those looking to shed off a few pounds without giving up on their favorite foods.

So much has been said about this Mediterranean-style yogurt and its suitability for weight loss diets, but as to whether the claims are true or mere myth…it still remains largely debatable.

Now let’s put this matter to rest by looking at a few facts relating to weight loss “dieting” and Greek yogurt. This yogurt is not what you’d call a “fat busting super-food”, but here are a couple of things about Greek yogurt that will really amaze you…

The Fat Diminisher System is the complete game changer for men and women when it comes to losing weight – Find out more about this revolutionary product HERE

Nutritional Fundamentals on Greek Yogurt

A simple serving of about 6 ounces of plain Greek yogurt (non-fat) is enough to supply your body with only 100 calories (6g Carbs, & 17g Protein).

Some people may argue that non-fat regular plain yogurt has fewer calories (95 calories)…and thus better than Greek yogurt but the truth is that this 5-calorie difference is negligible and it doesn’t matter that much either when you really think about it…

Despite the giving you less calories, regular plain non-fat yogurt has more Carbs (13g) and less Proteins (10g).

This means more carbs that can be turned into fat, and less proteins to help you metabolize…thus less advantage…

With that being said, you’ll want to note that Protein is an integral part of any successful weight-loss diet.

Nutritional Fundamentals on Greek Yogurt

According to the FSN (Food Science and Nutrition, 2015), their published study asserted that daily protein intake as part of your weight-loss diet was good for muscle mass preservation, the ability to burn calories, and better control of your hunger pangs throughout the day.

In short, Protein is good for your metabolism and this is where Greek yogurt beats regular yogurt hands-down!

At least 30% of your daily meal plan should contain foods rich in proteins.

More On Greek Yogurt and Nutritional Value…

A cohort study conducted in 2005 by the IJO (International Journal of Obesity) revealed that (despite not being Greek yogurt par se…) yogurt was a very important element in weight loss diets.

The study included 2 groups, the control group that was fed on low-calorie foods only, and the evaluation group that received both low-calorie foods plus yogurt.

The authors of this clinical study concluded that in addition to regular exercising, yogurt with high protein content was a viable inclusion in weight-loss diets/programs.

Do We Get Sufficient Calcium From Greek Yogurt?

For starters, an average adult needs about 1, 000 mg to 1, 200 mg of calcium every day. So how much of this can we get from Greek yogurt?

Well, as a dairy product with notable amounts of calcium, a single serving of Greek yogurt contains 109 mg of this vital mineral. Regular yogurt has about 339 mg of calcium.

Do We Get Sufficient Calcium From Greek Yogurt?

This means you have to supplement your diet with more calcium rich foods such as cheese fortified foods, or regular fresh milk to reach your daily recommended calcium intake target.

Servings and Tips

As clearly elaborated above, Greek yogurt is a fine addition to weight loss meal plans because of its high protein and calcium content, as well as low-calorie count.

A cup or two of Greek yogurt are good for you each day.

You can add fruits of your choice to bump its nutritional value.

The US Department of Agriculture however recommends a limit of 3 cups of any combination of dairy products in a day.

Too much of dairy intake may not present negative effects on most people, but it may cause a few problems for lactose intolerant individuals with possible cases of bloating or indigestion.

Additionally, you can use Greek yogurt as an ingredient in your cooking.

If you need to dress your baked potatoes with a healthy topper, add more protein to your fruit smoothies, or whip up something “gourmet” that requires the use of yogurt, yet totally healthy, then Greek yogurt is an ideal ingredient to ensure that your meals are not only healthy, but tasty as well…

FYI: Too much of something is always not good… and too much Greek yogurt (even non-fat…) will only end up making you fat!

Weight Loss Mistakes Beginners Make

Weight Loss Mistakes Beginners Make

It’s always made to sound SO easy isn’t it – burn more calories than you take in or eat less and move more.

The truth of the matter is that ANYONE who has taken on a diet or a fitness plan knows that this sounds a lot easier than it actually is.

In this article we will be taking a look at the common weight loss mistakes beginners make in an attempt to aid your healthy lifestyle change…

Interested in a 3 week Diet and Workout Plan that can change the way you look at food? Find out more HERE

Weight Loss Mistakes to Avoid…

1) Moving Ain’t Enough!

I thought I’d cover this point first as it seems modern-day adults have rose-colored glasses on when it comes to the amount they move around every day…which is never enough in my opinion!

This does seem to be stuck in the female population’s mindset more than the male’s…sorry girls!

I have had many conversations with women claiming that they are so busy every day that they are burning up the required amount of calories…

Not the case most of the time!

A trip to the local city center with the kids for several hours may seem like a good workout but….you’ve only burned only about 400 calories! I can hear the shrieks from here!!!!

Moving Ain't Enough!

But please don’t worry – there is a way you can ‘rev up’ your daily chores and it’s pretty simple really…

Short bursts of intense activity eat up more calories – and up to 36% more fat. This means you simply have to pick up your walking pace every one minute out of five!

Do the math – by increasing the intensity of this one minute you are in fact burning up one third more calories!

I got this little tip off a mate who is a long distance cyclist – he actually uses it when on his bike to trim down when he needs to (it works with running/jogging as well!).

2) Size of Portions

This is a killer – especially as most of the people guilty of it have no idea they are doing it…and weight loss will not work for them!

Your two friends opt for burger and fries for lunch but you say NO!

No, no, no – I ain’t eating that sh#t…I’m going for healthy nutrients instead.

So you go about loading up your plate with many weight-friendly foods and you tuck in – how good are you right?

Keep an eye on the size of your food portions...

Well unfortunately you may have won the nutrition battle…but you have lost the calorie battle to the burger and fries friends!

That healthy-sounding meal adds up to somewhere around the 700 calorie mark – and the burger and fries would probably of hit the 600 mark!

You see it’s all good and well hitting up these healthy foods…but only in portion moderation.

If you make a mountain on your plate that mountain is going to contain A LOT of calories – regardless of how healthy that food is!

3) I’ll Have The Turkey Sandwich Please…

You sit down in a relatively nice restaurant, your mate orders a greasy pizza…but you order the turkey sandwich. Sounds healthy right?

Well it is…if you make it at home!

A turkey sandwich that comes on focaccia with cheese and mayo can provide 970 calories.

I'll Have The Turkey Sandwich Please

It gets worse…

Two large slices of your mate’s pizza will only give about 500 calories!

At the end of the day it’s best to do your research BEFORE you get to the restaurant – find out what bread contains what and drill down into the so-called healthy options.

4) Positive Impacts

A lot of individuals that take on weight loss forget that everyone is different – people will see different results from dieting and fitness regimes.

It’s important to remember about the positive impacts exercise and healthy living will have in general – it’s not just about the number you see on the scale below you!

Positive Impacts

More energy, less stress, better sleep, and reduced risk of many diseases come hand in hand with a healthy lifestyle. Weight loss will eventually come – but it’s not the ONLY positive you should be concentrating on!

5) Are You Being Too Strict?

At the end of the day this is only weight loss – there is no reason to put yourself in front of the headmaster time and time again!

A diet is not meant to be a straitjacket – so don’t treat it like one!

In my experience you will see more success if you manage to stick to the rules about 85% of the time.

Are You Being Too Strict?

You can use that remaining 15% to go out on a Friday night and have a few beers or even have a take away midweek.

You see, people are far more likely to stick to a diet if they can have their ‘naughty time’ off every now and again.

Drinking Aloe Vera Juice For Weight Loss

Drinking Aloe Vera Juice For Weight Loss

The health benefits of Aloe Vera are something that hasn’t gone unnoticed in the medical world. The soothing properties of this plant are used in ointments, skin care products and even toilet paper to enhance their feel or aid the skin.

For most people, Aloe Vera is a purely external, topical option. The idea of drinking it may seem a little unsavoury at first.

However, there are many people that believe that drinking Aloe Vera juice for weight loss really works.

The Fat Burning Kitchen Guide – Your 24 Hour Diet Transformation to Make Your Body a Fat-Burning Machine. Find Out More HERE!

What beneficial properties are found in the Aloe Vera plant?

The common use of the Aloe Vera plant tends to be a gel, but there are also latex and juice forms. Concentrations of nutrients may vary depending on method, preparation and dosage.

The plant is highly revered for its high levels of vitamins, minerals, enzymes and carbohydrates.

What beneficial properties are found in the Aloe Vera plant?

There is a range of B vitamins – which are great for an energy boost – as well as vitamin E, folic acid, collagen and much more.

These elements all highlight the potential health-giving properties of this plant and the potential for weight loss.

How can this liquid be used as a weight loss aid?

The high level of collagen in Aloe Vera is said to aid the digestive system and speed up the body’s metabolic rate. This is essential for fat-burning and long-term weight loss solutions.

How can this liquid be used as a weight loss aid?

In addition to this, there is also the potential for controlling blood sugar levels and cleansing the colon. This improved fat-burning ability means that more energy is created where fat may once have been stored.

In the long-term, this can have a significant effect on weight loss and improving the body’s BMI. The only problem is that ongoing use of Aloe Vera juice cleanses can have a negative effect.

What are the drawbacks to using Aloe Vera in this way?

The results seen may not be as amazing as users initially hope for because of the concentration of the solution.

Some people that speak highly of Aloe vera products for weight loss are often talking about concentrated supplements with high dose of the required nutrients.

The juice is much weaker, especially when diluted with water or other liquids.

Another problem for some users is the fact that Aloe Vera can have a laxative effect. For some, this is the precise reason why they are using it for weight loss, for that colon-cleansing, fast-paced detoxification.

The juice is much weaker, especially when diluted with water or other liquids.

A reliance on this method is actually unhealthy as an on-going solution and highly irresponsible. Some users also experience other side effects, such as digestive discomfort, cramps, diarrhoea and low potassium levels.

In addition to this, anyone with an allergy to onions, garlic or tulips may have a reaction. As always, talk to a doctor if you have any concerns.

What are the best methods for using Aloe Vera juice for losing weight?

If you do decide that Aloe Vera is the way to go for your healthy regime for gradual weight loss (rather than a laxative cleanse) it is best to use the juice as part of a morning drink.

This juice drink can help to energize and detox the body first thing to get it ready for a work out, or the day’s activity.

The nutrients can then enhance the body’s natural fat burning processes to prevent weight gain throughout the day.

What are the best methods for using Aloe Vera juice for losing weight?

Once you have you the Aloe Vera juice extracted from your leaves, it is up to you how you consume it. Some like to add a couple of tablespoons to water and drink it as a straight, diluted solution.

Others mix it with honey, fruit juices or kale smoothies. The latter can ensure an easier transition if you already use smoothies and super juices in the mornings.

Drinking Aloe Vera juice for weight loss may seem like a strange idea, but it can really make a difference when used responsibly.

As long as you don’t rely too heavily on Aloe Vera juice in a juice cleanse diet and instead treat it as an addition to a healthier, responsible diet, you could find that it helps with weight loss.

The results will not be dramatic, but this could add a kick to current regime. Add some juice to your morning routine with a recipe that is to your taste, watch out for the potential side-effects and see if the pounds start to disappear.

It has a refreshing taste and flavor, and it contains beneficial yeast and friendly probiotics similar to those found in yogurt.

Maintaining a healthy digestive system is one of the key contributing factors towards weight loss.

The digestive system can be disrupted by various issues such as stress, lack of dietary fiber, poor diet choices, and environmental toxins that we consume unknowingly.

Naturally, your gut contains both good and bad bacteria that are essential in food digestion and nutrient absorption.

When you are not getting proper nutrition, the natural setting of the system goes out of balance, and your body becomes dominated by pathogenic bacteria and yeast.

These pathogenic microorganisms thrive on sugar and processed foods, and they can cause you to develop cravings for more food even when your stomach is full.

This is because the nutrients that your body needs are being taken away from the food by these pathogens.

Press Reset!

In relation to the situation described above, Kefir helps to reset balance in your digestive system.

It creates a healthy balance of beneficial bacteria and yeast and ensures that your body is benefiting from the nutrients in the food you are consuming.

In this way, you don’t have to eat extra servings, and this is helpful in losing weight.

It also cuts down the food cravings by ensuring that your body feels more nourished and balanced, especially because the proteins in Kefir will keep you feeling full for a long time.

It will also boost your energy expenditure thus helping you to reduce body fat, and this directly translates to weight loss.

Counting Calories

Research has shown that Kefir promotes bowel movement, which is crucial in losing weight.

Although there is no direct connection between the bowel movement and weight loss, it is usually an indication that your digestive tract is on the right track.

It is also worth noting that for you to achieve weight loss using Kefir, you need to choose low-fat Kefir and combine this with a low-calorie diet.

A cup of low-fat Kefir has been found to contain just 110 calories and 2 grams of fat which is equivalent to one serving of dairy.

Consuming three servings on a daily basis will help you lose weight and reduce belly fat. It will ensure that you are consuming far fewer calories than you are consuming each day.

However, it is important that you combine it with any other weight loss measures you have been taking, such as regular exercise.

Some people have posed the question of how Kefir is different from yogurt and other dairy products in terms of helping to lose weight.

The difference is that unlike yogurt, Kefir does not contain added sugar. It only has natural sugar, and this makes it a healthier choice.

Also, Kefir contains several major strains of friendly yeasts and bacteria not commonly found in yogurt. It has a higher nutritional value and keeps your colon clean and healthy.

The Bottom Line

The reason why Kefir is a favorite of many is because it can be used even by people who suffer from dairy intolerance.

The beneficial bacteria and yeast in this drink produce enzyme lactase, which breaks down most of the lactose found in dairy.

Additionally, they can substitute the dairy product with soy, coconut, or rice milk, and then get to enjoy Kefir benefits for weight loss.

Kefir is not only good for weight loss, but also for your overall health. Its excellent nutritional content offers healing and health-maintenance benefits to people in every type of condition.

The Truth Behind Sauna Weight Loss Benefits

The Truth Behind Sauna Weight Loss Benefits

In the recent past, there has been much debate and misinformation on sauna weight loss benefits and this article seeks to shed more light on the issue.

Saunas are primarily designed to let your body cleanse and relax, but they are also an excellent way to help you lose those extra pounds.

Some people have said that it is impossible for you to lose weight in the sauna since you are doing nothing that requires effort.

Let’s take a look at how sauna can assist in attaining your weight loss goals…

The Sauna

Sitting in a sauna for 15-30 minutes will increase blood circulation and make your body sweat. Sweating is one of those body mechanisms that help to expel toxins from the lymphatic system.

Toxins are usually harmful to body cells and organs. When you detoxify, your body organs work more efficiently.

This leaves your body in a better position to lose more fat because toxins are no longer hindering your bodily functions.

It also allows you to effectively absorb healthy nutrients, and this is an important step towards weight loss.

The heat in a sauna will raise your metabolic rate by up to 20%. This happens because the metabolic process is working hard to regulate your body temperature.

A higher metabolic rate results in your body being able to burn more calories than you are consuming.

You will, therefore, meet your basic energy needs while losing weight at the same time. The most interesting fact is that the accelerated metabolic effects will last even beyond your sauna sessions.

As such, your body will continue to burn calories at a higher rate, hours after you have left the sauna. With this, the calories you consume after the session will not be a hindrance to weight loss.

Another potential path for weight loss in the sauna is that the relaxation you experience helps to soothe the sympathetic nervous system.

This reduces stress and lowers the levels of cortisol in the body. Cortisol is a stress hormone that plays a critical role in regulating your weight by determining how much fat will be stored and distributed in your body.

When cortisol levels are high, it impairs metabolism and increases blood sugar levels. However, we can’t live without this important hormone because it helps in body’s response to physical and emotional stress.

Being in the sauna will help balance cortisol levels thus increasing fat release and contributing to weight loss.

What Type of Sauna?

There are many types of saunas such as steam sauna, smoke sauna, electrically heated sauna, dry sauna, and infrared sauna.

Among all these, infrared sauna has been reported to be the most effective type in promoting weight loss. It makes use of light waves to heat your body directly without heating the environment.

The infrared energy penetrates deeper into your body and dissolves the underlying fat, and therefore your body sweats it out along with the other toxins.

It also makes you perspire more than the other sauna types, thus enabling you to get rid of more toxins for effective weight loss.

Studies have shown that a 30 minutes sauna session can burn up to 600 calories, and this is good news for anyone trying to lose weight.

Some of this weight loss occurs as a result of the water your body is losing through sweating. In this case, some of the pounds usually come back when you rehydrate after the session.

However, if you have sauna sessions regularly, you should notice a considerable drop in weight within a period of 3 months.

Irregular sessions will only provide a temporary fix, but if you make it a routine, it helps put your body in shape.

Unlike the common weight loss exercises, sitting in the sauna has little or no side effects especially if you take the right precautions regarding hydration and temperature.

It is a safe way to lose weight while enjoying other benefits such as pain relief, reduced tension, improved skin tone, and a stronger immune system among others.

It is important to note that for you to reap the maximum sauna weight loss benefits, you need to combine it with other healthy lifestyle choices such as proper diet, and ensuring proper hydration before, during, and after your sauna sessions.

Failure to drink water could cause dehydration which comes with symptoms such as headaches and dizziness.
